I’m pretty excited about my passive income online lately. It is coming along nicely and I am enjoying definite growth this month in what is normally a very down time for traffic in my particular niche (after a big January and December). So that is a positive sign that I am still growing my traffic numbers and revenues.
My focus has shifted lately from one of content creation towards one of “reckless promotion.” Normally I spend 90 percent of my time on writing new content for my websites and about 10 percent of my time promoting it (building links). This is a flawed approach and the guru’s out there have finally convinced me to flip the thing around and spend more time on link-building as this is what ultimately brings in the money.
For example, I know minisites that are only 10 pages of content that are bringing in over a thousand bucks per month in passive income. How do they do it? Because they have a ton of backlinks! They rank at the top of the search engines for their main keyword and this is how they make money online. There is no need to post new content unless you want to target new keywords. The rest of your efforts should be spent on link building.
So that is what I’ve been learning and now I have a new promotional tool that I’ve been using lately and I spend about 1 hour per day using it, while only writing about a 30 minute post for my website. So now I have flipped things around and I’m going way overboard on the promotion end and this should bring in some positive results. We shall see.
Just for the record this new technique has brought in 190 new one-way links, all with my chosen anchor text, all over the last 5 days. I think this is set to get even bigger though as I go along. This is with one solid hour of hard work each day towards the promotion. Tedious but very easy to do really. And I am quite fast at it.
I would tell you what it is but I am not here to pimp out affiliate products and try to make a quick buck. That is not quite as passive as monetizing with Adsense so that is what I will stick too. I want to create an online business that needs about 1 hour of work per day or less, not a huge blog with a massive readership that needs constant attention in order to keep them buying affiliate products…..
