Don't forget in your 1000 article quest it takes time for things to find their groove and start counting towards your aim. G likes to give a wide birth before it lets things ratchet up. I always blast something out there and wait a good 3+ weeks before examining how it has done. The worth thing you can do is keep hammering the same thing over and over and end up in the slow and endless sandbox. Not that I have any real idea on how you do things. But the slow grow is a huge part of doing targeted keywords on the net. If it wasn't can you imagine how many people would have really crummy sites at the top.

Also, don't forget to target some rich keywords like "last minute (deals, flights, hotels... anything)", "quick help..." and things like that. A lot of times these go unnoticed and have huge CTR. Good luck on your 1000 post quest.
