Make money eBay – is it really possible to make good money on eBay? Yes and no. It is very possible to build a business using the popular auction site, but if you just go into it without much knowledge and try to move a ton of merchandise you are probably going to break even or lose money. The reason for this is simple: eBay is a huge marketplace and it is really quite efficient as far as the market goes. What this means is that most items are being bid up to what they are actually worth. The market is so big and there are so many people participating that huge inconsistencies are pretty rare these days.
So what does this mean for you, the seller, who is trying to make money on eBay? It means that you have to fight with razor thin profit margins and a whole ton of competitors in nearly every product category. Given this, are there still ways to make decent money?
There are but you have to be smart. The first thing you might do is to make money by selling your old junk that you no longer want. Now this is not a sustainable business because eventually you will run out of junk to sell, but it is still worth doing and it will get the ball rolling. If you have not sold much on eBay in the past then you need to get some sales under your belt to see how the whole process works. You also need to get a feel for shipping costs and how they affect the overall profit margin.
Now once you have done that you are ready to find a product to sell. One way to find a good product to sell on eBay is if you have access to something local that is not a commodity. If you can sell something over and over again that is not widely available, and also keep your costs low by buying it locally and in bulk, then you can make money on eBay.
Another way you might be able to make good money is if you can produce or create something that is in demand. For example, if you can make high quality jewelry that goes for more than a couple of dollars on eBay, then you might do very well with an eBay store that sells a dozen pieces or more each day.
