Are people out there really making money for surveys? Yes and no. If you go out there and do some research, you will find that some people are actually making real money by sitting there and taking surveys all day long. Hard to believe it but it is true. Now if you have this idea in your head that you can make a little extra money on the side by doing this, then I would suggest that you consider this first.
Your true hourly wage for taking internet surveys is never going to exceed a few dollars at the most. Best case scenario is they offer you a big survey to take in which you can make 20 bucks just for taking one survey. Now this sounds like a great deal and you are probably saying “send me a bunch more of these!” But wait until you see the 20 dollar survey. It would be easier to file your own taxes and do the taxes for your 10 closest relatives all in one sitting. They practically want you to write a book with those things. Shorter surveys might be much easier but obviously they do not pay as well. So really, if you are taking some of these online surveys then you should calculate what your real hourly wage is.
On the other hand, I have a few online properties to which I publish new content every day, and this small little asset keeps churning out more money for me all the time. Every time I add another article to my websites, it is another chance for future money to come rolling in the door. And this is residual money, it keeps coming in, day after day after day, potentially forever.
Now it is a bit of a different mindset because you do not get the money right up front when you write another article….instead you have to wait for the search engines to find it, and you might even have to promote it a bit too. But then once it is making money every day, it will continue to do so, over and over again. If you can do that once successfully, then you can do that a thousand times successfully. And doing so will bring in a thousand times more money than what you made off of one article. So each new article is like building up part of your online empire, your money making machine.
