I am already making passive income. It is up around $350 to $400 per month in revenue. My expenses are super low on that and are probably averaged out to maybe 20 bucks a month or so. Sometimes I do spend more on expenses, and in fact I have spent as much as $250 in a month before in order to build my website up and promote it to make even more money. It’s all good for the future. Grow income at any expense, that is the mantra.
So right now, I am down to where I can put in about an hour per day or even less and still see steady (but somewhat slow) growth with my website. I do some keyword research, determine a good list of words to go after, then this sets up my content creation schedule for a while. I sometimes take a month off from heavy writing and focus on link building. It doesn’t seem to matter much, believe it or not…..as long as I put in an hour or two each day of these activities, then I can consistently grow my income at a rate of about $30 dollars per month and Earn Money Online.
A long time ago I was only making about 50 dollars per month. Now imagine that I was working on my website for an hour per day then, too (I think I probably was, actually). So that was more like a buck fifty an hour. Do 30 hours of work in a month, make 50 dollars. Not so great, huh? But I had to go through that in order to get to where I am at now.
So now the only issue is one of scale. I currently need a certain dollar amount each month in order to meet all of my financial needs. This number is a bit higher than the $400 dollars per month that I currently make from passive income. What I really need is to triple my figures. Triple my traffic and triple my revenue. This would put me in a position to seriously look at quitting my day job and concentrating on internet marketing full time.
But wait a second, you say….full time internet marketing? That doesn’t sound like passive income to me!
You’re right…..if you slave away at the computer for 8 hours plus per day, that is pretty far from being passive income. But if your websites are pulling in enough to cover your living expenses and also provide some degree of comfort, then the ability to make your own hours, cut back to 1 hour per day for a few months, or do your job from anywhere in the world make the opportunity seem all the more enticing. It is more than just being able to provide food and shelter for yourself with an hour per day on the computer. It is about the freedom to scale that up as you need to, or take on a job if you really need the money, or to travel at will in any way that you choose.
At least half of what I want when I say I want “passive income” is actually time freedom. The other half is to actually make money blogging, so that I can live a decent life and buy some crap when I need it. I don’t need shiny toys every few months. I can get by just fine some tasty Ramen noodles or what have you. Of course, I also enjoy the occasional ribeye…….
