Shifting My Strategy for Building Profitable Websites

I read a ton of internet marketing information every week. Most of it is junk. But there are a few gems in there (which is why I keep reading every week).

One of these is a profound bit of wisdom from Courtney Tuttle, whose excellent internet marketing website is chock full of useful information.

One current strategy of mine (taken from his website) is to target a keyword phrase and try to dominate the search engine results for just that phrase. To do this, I’m going to build an entire website around that phrase and try to get a high ranking position for the keyword.

The idea is to build a relatively small but useful site that targets this keyword, so that you can essentially “set it and forget it” once it is up and running and making a small bit of profit each day.

Once you do this with one website, make another. Not only will you get better at this as you go along, but you gain leverage from having multiple websites eventually, because you can use certain websites to help boost the other ones with links.

A big part of my strategy to make money online is to buy a bunch of domains right now, and get a post up on each one and let them start aging. Part of the ranking is based on the age of the domain, so it helps to get them started now and let them simmer for a while as you build them up. This will help to build their authority over time as the domains age. But to do that, you have to start right now.
