Start with a Quality Website and then Go for Volume in Order to Build up Your Online Income

by Patrick Meninga

Start a website from scratch or buy a decent one that receives steady search engine traffic.

Then, start pouring your heart and soul into the website. The idea is to create a master list of keywords that you eventually want to write articles for, and then start going to town on them.

But the key is to start with quality.

Every article should be a little masterpiece. This is important, especially in the early stages. You want to set the bar high for yourself.

In every case, before you publish an article, ask yourself: “Am I actually helping the searcher here?”

If not, then edit the article or add to it until you are satisfied that your article is genuinely helpful.

Quality is job number one. Don’t worry about speed at first. The idea is to build a solid base of quality content. You will expand from there.

It is very tempting to set your goal on creating your first 100 articles as quickly as possible. This is a mistake. Yes, you want volume eventually. But you have to keep quality in check the whole time or it will all go down the drain.

As you continue to publish quality articles, you will naturally get faster at it.

If you maintain your high level of quality, then eventually this super high quality will become “normal” for you.

This is a good thing. This is the foundation that you need to create a great website. Don’t rush through this process and shoot for volume prematurely. You want to establish your high quality of content FIRST, before you go nuts with volume.

Eventually, you want to have high volume. Eventually, you want to be publishing 3 articles per day on your website, minimum.

If you are just starting out and you do not have an efficient style of writing about your subject yet then it is a mistake to go for high volume right away.

Develop your topic first, focus on quality for a while, and build your website up slowly in the beginning. Later on you can focus on speed once you have the mechanics of creating helpful and useful articles down to a science.

If you are in this business for the long run then my belief is that 3 articles per day is a solid goal. If you push much higher than that then the average person will get burned out before they see results. Publishing 3 articles daily will create a full time income in less than 3 years for most any profitable niche, especially if you focus on high quality articles. Without the quality, you run the risk of losing everything at some point.

Quality + volume for the win!
