Things were looking good with the whole textbroker experiment when it came to making money online. Unfortunately that bubble got burst a little bit the other day when they dropped my quality rating down to where I could not make as much money per word any more. Instead of working my tail off and having $60 dollar days (for about 2 solid hours of work), I am now looking at more like $30 to $40 dollar days for 2 solid hours of work.
Huh.
Well that is not so great anymore to me, even though it is still better pay than most any other job I could be doing. The fact of the matter is that it is still hard work and it can be quite a drain to put in 2 solid hours every single day. I was absolutely psyched out to do it for the $60/day rate but now it is a bit less enticing.
To be honest I think it is good that this happened because I may very well have become burned out on doing this freelancing every single day, and thus never pushed myself to build the links that I need for my flagship web property. That is approaching the possibility of making a solid $20 per day, and that would probably be preferable to higher earnings that I have to sit down and crank out hard labor in order to achieve.
In other words, I sort of lost sight of the real prize here: passive income. Thirty bucks an hour just sounded so good to me, and I am lucky that it turned out to be too good to be true. I have to keep my sights set on the real goal which is to create an authority website that can generate cash over the long haul, even when I am not working on it. My current flagship site is doing just that, it just is not Making Money enough for me to quit my day job or anything. That particular vision is going to have to wait a year or two, but I have come to grips with that and I am now willing to put in the work to make it happen over the long haul.
Passive income takes a long time to build it up, but the slower you go, the more stable it likely is.

Did they drop you down to 2 Stars?
That’s where they started me out and it has totally deterred me from writing even one article.
Nope they dropped me to 3 stars, not sure if it is worth it to write at that point. I figure I can still make good money each day but it is a ton of work….so much easier to make bank with 4 stars.
